Lovely to see so many of you could make it to April's meeting
despite it being the school holidays. We all really enjoyed the Pampered Chef food demonstration done by Hazel,
(impressive dip and yummy profiteroles) considering the limited facilities. The range of cooking goodies she brought with her was also remarkable and they all looked fabulous! One which stood out was the whisk which whipped the
cream in half a dozen strokes but I’m sure you all had your favourite. Hazel has very kindly agreed to keep the ‘party’ open so that we can still order (for
the next week) and our WI will get 15% of any sales; so if you havn’t yet
bought the gadget you set your heart on then please hurry so that we get the
benefit.
The
next meeting is May 13th which is a social evening where we can have a good chat. We have had requests from members to do a savoury evening, rather
than cakes, as some people are diabetic or have other dietry considerations and
so can’t join in. Bearing that in mind; for the next meeting get your bakers
hats on and have a go at bread or buns – the more varieties the better. Anybody
needing inspiration can look at Paul Holywood’s programme on TV, or iplayer if
it has finished
