Jacqui McDonald from Jacqui and Bridie fame came to give us a talk/singalong about the history of music in Liverpool from her viewpoint. This may sound a little dry but that couldn't have been further from the truth; Jackie was spellbinding, holding us all in thrall and getting everyone singing along, even those who didn't know the words. Lin, who also entertained us, shared a nugget of information of interest to all those who have been involved in Blackburne house. During her time in the Education department in Liverpool she was instrumental in getting a £1 million grant, for the then derelict Blackburne House, which kick started it's revival and transformation into what we are using today. We have passed on our thanks to both of them for such a fabulous evening.
Next meeting is the AGM on 8th October, any volunteers for the committee (it's good fun) please put your name forward. Don't forget to bring along cakes and books so that we can have a good natter and social evening, as our last meetings have been so busy.
Also, please don't forget to bring your £15 for the Christmas Party as we need to confirm numbers.
